Battle of the Bands 2015

It was a true battle of talent –  bands performed and competed to win the open slot for the Soundwaves Street Party Music Trailer on Sun 27 September! Civic Party, Golden Elk, Viral, Sir Psycho, Zorse, Virgin Converters all played their hearts out. SPECIAL GUESTS RECKLESS AVENUE – last year’s winners – entertained the crowd while the jury deliberated. And the winner? Sir Psycho! Don’t miss them on our Soundwaves Street Party Trailer on 27 September.

And this is what Debbie Stevens, the event organiser, wrote:

THANKS TO ALL BANDS FOR TONIGHTS SHOW – great night – great talent – great music – tough job for the judges. WELL DONE SIR PSYCHO…..
Thanks to REKLESS AVENUE FOR PLAYING AND FOR PROVIDING DRUMS AND OTHER STUFF — Thanks to Jason for sound – and all tonigh’ts judges ….Thanks to TY students who helped out tonight – Thanks to Melissa – who took photos all night (watch this space) — and lastly thanks to the crowd…. hope yee all had a great night…

Civic Party – ‘Good Musicians – Nice use of Loop pedal -Smooth Sound’
Golden Elk – ‘Grand Tone – Confident musicians – lively performanace – Good crowd interaction’
Viral – ‘Good Vocal performance – Got crowd dancing – Good Sound’
Sir Psycho [winners] – ‘Skilled musicians – Very tight – stayed strong during technical difficulties’
Zorse – ‘Good stage presence – Big sound for a 3 piece – Good cover’
Virgin converters – ‘Clever band – Original – Great energy – Got the crowd going’
