Anne Harnett has drawn and painted nearly all her life. Her oil and watercolour paintings are suffused with soft light. With more than twenty years in the field to date, her subject matter is varied and includes still-life, landscapes, street scenes and botanical work. She finds that capturing light and colour is best accomplished through close observation. Anne paints en plein air whenever she can, having travelled frequently around Ireland and to France, Croatia and the United States, seeking inspiration and opportunities to paint in the field. Anne is a regular participant in The Arts in Action Festival, Drogheda and Farmleigh, Dublin, where she displays her artwork and teaches watercolour classes to adults. She values her teaching experiences as having increased her perspective as an artist.
