Sunday 22nd, Meet at Skerries Mills car park 12 noon – free
This cycle is for all the family. Organised by the Skerries Cycling Initiative (SCI)
Children must be competent cyclists and be chaperoned by an adult.
Ray Ryan of the Skerries Cycling Initiative writes:
“The Soundwavers are getting their bikes ready for the SOUNDWAVEY FUN CYCLE TO ARDGILLAN organised by the Skerries Cycling Initiative (SCI) for Sunday September 22nd with a picnic by the Rosegarden. And if you think you can disappear without a trace during WAVEY-WAVEY , – HAH!, we’re going to FIND you!
All cyclists are welcome on the Fun Cycle but children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. There is some hill-climbing involved so this event is not suitable for small children who are not proficient cyclists.
Cyclists will meet at the Skerries Mills car park at 12 noon, Sunday September 22nd, weather permitting. The SCI will provide stewards to assist the peloton in getting through junctions along the way.
Please check brakes, gears, tyre pressure, saddle height and lubrication.
Children must be capable of using brakes on their bikes as the route includes significant descents in both directions.
Route to be followed : from the Skerries Mills car park via Millers Lane to the railway roundabout, under the bridge followed by an immediate right turn up Togher Hill to Milverton Gates and right again along Ardla Rd. to Ardgillan.
For those who want it, a stewarded return to Skerries Mills Car Park will be offered in the early afternoon.“
Don’t miss this chance to cycle safely to Ardgillan and have lots of fun on the way, and during the picnic! Weather permitting, as Ray says.
