As both the element of drawing and the visceral substance of the paint are important to me, my work sits on the boundary between Abstract and Representative Art.

Process plays an integral part in the outcome of each work where, during its creation, I alternate between realism and imagination, constantly layering, removing and even obliterating the painted surface; allowing for areas of control and ambiguity.

The friction and tugging between the large, expressive mark-making and loose brushwork to minute and focused areas of detail, pervades any decision, which makes for a constant challenge.
