This painting was done predominantly with a palette knife. Inspiration for this work was a quiet corner in a garden in Provence France. I liked the way the light played on the wall behind the chair and on the patio. i tried to capture the warmth of the stone work and the terracotta pots.

I am a painter working mainly in oils but also do some work in acrylics and watercolour. The main themes in my work are landscapes and seascapes but also like to do some streetscapes and still life work. Recently I have started to work more with the the palette knife in my oil paintings and I am trying to paint with a looser and more impressionistic style.
