I have always loved making art, whether sketching, painting or stitching. As a child I was stifled by perfectionism and the beautiful blank white page. Consequently,

I find real freedom in the uniqueness of an imperfect world and try to reflect this in my paintings through heavy impasto. Working on oil paintings over several sittings, I enjoy layering paint thickly, changing 'mistakes' into happy accidents.

The ever changing shoreline and seascapes of our beautiful town of Skerries provide inspiration for many of my works. It is a real joy to capture the emotions evoked by a stormy sea or a balmy sunset.
