While my artwork consists mainly of oil painting and drawing, I also work in batik and watercolour. I have started printmaking this year and really love the process. I spend a lot of time taking photos of my local surroundings. Because of the large expanses of sea, sky and land, the view is constantly changing with the weather. No matter how often I photograph or paint the same view it will never be same. The light and colour are always different and produce very dramatic effects. To capture this on photo or canvas is very challenging but I never tire of it. For printing the technique I have used Intaglio. Because the process of using drypoint is very close to drawing I have found it very easy to take to printmaking. I can use one drawing to produce many different effects. Again, I find I am very inspired by nature.
