Fergus Byrne will conduct a peripathetic workshop in the town of Skerries. Participants will be taken on a walk in the area during which different exercises will be proposed, aimed at bringing an alternate focus to ones relationship to the environment. A large part of the walk will be silent allowing for a reflective space to be cultivated. Exercises will vary and include moving at different speeds, stillness, blindness, writing and perhaps drawing. The nature of the day and the group will also feed into the choice of activities. The peripathetic nature of the work corresponds to one aspect of Byrne’s approach to researching to develop a performance for the ArtWaves Festival, which will take place on Sat 23rd September!
