The Dubliner's Dilemma - (12yrs+)

Written and performed by Declan Gorman

Co-Motion Media in association with Bachelors Walk Productions presents:

based on ‘Dubliners’ by James Joyce and directed by Gerard Lee.

Prior to touring in America and India this Autumn, Loughshinny writer-performer Declan Gorman comes home to Skerries with his internationally acclaimed solo show. A glimpse into the life and world of the young genius James Joyce, the play begins shortly before World War 1. In his London basement, *publisher Grant Richards*, re-reads the manuscript of Joyce’s ‘Dubliners’ and recalls his uncomfortable correspondence with the truculent author eight years earlier.

Richards was among the first to reject Joyce’s masterpiece on grounds it might breach obscenity laws. Should he reconsider his original position and publish now? In all their magical glory, the stories of Dublin come to vivid life around him.
